The four pieces shown on this page come from the collection of the Fiesta® Tableware Company. Each is marked with an early version of the Wells backstamp featuring the Newell Bridge.
They differ from the standard Wells shape in several ways. The casserole is much larger than its regular counterpart, doesn't have a foot, and was given closed rather than open finial and handles. The rims on the three 9" plates are slightly narrower than the regular Wells plates. Also, a series of embossed rings were modeled in the verge - the area where the rim meets the well.
The casserole was decorated with Flowers of the Dell, a standard treatment used on several shapes of the early 1930s. However, the decals on the plates never went into production.
