Skating Animals, Comical Animals, Circus Animals

[DSN:370, NS:DN]

This treatment was made up of for subjects:

  • Elephant
  • Hippo
  • Monkey
  • Pig on a goose
Most of the time, the decals are found on children's breakfast sets from the 1940s. Such sets consisted of three pieces: an Ovaltine mug, Wells 7" plate, and a Purina bowl. In rare instances, Fiesta shapes in old ivory were used to make breakfast sets. Breakfast sets were almost always personaized with the child's name in gold letters.

This treatment was also used on Swing Eggshell with red trim to create "toy tea sets."

The decals were used by many other potteries in the 1940s and 1950s including, but not limited to: Crown Potteries, W. S. George, Hall China, and several hotelware firms.

There is a fifth decal, the elephant holding on to the pig and goose, but that peticular decal was not used by Homer Laughlin.
