In 1981, five mixing bowls were modeled at the Homer Laughlin China Company. The first three were listed in company records with the capacity of 1 ½ qt. each. The remaining two held 2 quarts.
There were two designs used on the bowls: a set of rings, and embossed cherries. They were marked in the mold with an embossed HLC logo and USA. All five were made in a semi-vitreous body.
There is no indication these bowls ever went into production. The existing samples are warped and "out of round" which is probably why they never made it past the experimental stage.
Shown below are examples from the collection of the Fiesta® Tableware Company.
