The Antique Auto set of plates was made by the Homer Laughlin China Company for Cunningham and Pickett of Alliance, Ohio from the late 1950s to mid-1960s. Two treatment numbers were used: CP-235 with the CP standing for Cunningham and Pickett, and later LTC-13, the LTC standing for Cunningham and Pickett's Lifetime China Company.
Eight different antique automobile decals were applied to Rhythm 8¼" plates. Each plate was gold lined. Unfortunately, most went unmarked.
In the 1960s, smaller versions of the decals were applied to HLC's 5¾" fluted ashtrays. Unlike the plates, the ashtrays were often marked with an overglaze Lifetime China backstamp.
Other potteries and decorating firms used the antique auto decals on plates, ashtrays, cups and saucer sets, and other ceramic pieces. One decorator, Pearl China of East Liverpool, Ohio, used the decals with gold trim on HLC's Harlequin tumblers in light green.
